Jeux D'eau - Ravel (1901)
Originally from St. Cloud Minnesota, I grew up on a small farm where we grew corn, as well as raised cattle and had multiple beehives. Since 2003 I have been playing piano, and continued ever since! Growing up I completed multiple music theory tests administered by the Minnesota Music Teacher's Association (MMTA) and competed in multiple piano examinations, as well as performing numerous pieces annually. I attended Gustavus Adolphus College for my undergraduate degree, where I continued my piano education and found a fascination for economics. Additionally, I was a founding member of Enactus at Gustavus, where my cofounders and I implemented a cafeteria delivery system on campus. Since graduating from Gustavus Adolphus college, I have moved to West Virginia to pursue my PhD in economics where I look forward to building my career in research and education.
Outside of economics, my interests include everything music related. I enjoy performing all forms of classical music, though my favorite compositions are from the romantic era. My favorite composers are Franz Liszt and Maurice Ravel (a video of my performance of "Jeu D'eau" by Ravel can be found above), while my favorite piece to perform is La Campenella by Liszt. An extensive list of pieces performed can be found below. I enjoy listening to all forms of music, especially rock and hip-hop!
